Solitary

And I was there…
To hear the deafening silence.
To feel velvety creatures exhaling.
To witness pavements under jaundiced glow.

And I was there…
To see humanity snore.
To visit the lost and dirty.
To bask in glory of dappled darkness.

And I was there…
To fire up dying embers.
To empathize with fallen dead.
To sway along winds from distant lands.

And I was there…
In the scrutiny of moon.
Walking towards an empty home.
Alone. But with my words.
